Bolognese Gnocchi Bake is a comforting and hearty dish that combines the flavors of a classic Bolognese sauce with pillowy potato gnocchi, all baked to cheesy perfection.
Ingredients:
- 500g potato gnocchi
- 500g beef mince
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 400g canned chopped tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 200C 400F
In a large skillet, brown the beef mince over medium heat
Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery
Cook until vegetables are softened
Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper
Simmer for 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld
Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi according to package instructions
Drain and set aside
Combine the cooked gnocchi with the Bolognese sauce in a large baking dish
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving
